The randomness of being listened to and other people using that for their own purposes gives very random results which are sometimes indifferent, sometimes good, sometimes bad. I have no idea if this is linked but it’s quite indicative of the randomness of what happens. For example, I said to my mum a few days ago that woman off the traitors was quite arrogant because we we’re talking about the Traitors and then suddenly she turn ups two days later in a Jane Plan advert, it’s so random, but that’s life. Literally makes me laugh and wince at the weirdness but that’s literally the kind of thing happens. Like Strictly Come Dancing I swear came early because of my post on Eyes Wide Shut, maybe I’m being paranoid, I don’t know.
Another example which I come back to because it’s something I care about is the seagrass and protection of wildlife. So I’ve supported lots of environment causes over the years and I wrote to support seagrass, which is an often coastal type of grass which grows in fairly shallow water, as it needs a decent amount of sunlight, that is good for carbon absorption and crucially for mitigating climate change absorbs 33x more carbon dioxide per acre than typical rainforest. I said billions should be invested for the benefit of wildlife, fish and carbon sequestration. So the Welsh government, to their credit did invest something, £1.12 million to restore 266 hectares. Great, but the difference between influencer status and direct control is oceans, if I direct control over that budget, which I don’t want as democracy triumphs, I would invest £1 billion. I don’t want direct control I want democracy, I’m not Welsh, but if I say had control over a small parish, I think they could invest £1.12 million, because the scale is so small.
Animal rights are just shocking. Just look at Joey Carbstrong expose’s
The rich get richer the bottom 50% get poorer – is continually happening around the world
If I actually had direct power, something I never want, as I believe in democracy and I don’t want to stand, I would literally stop inequality spiraling as I don’t believe in pyramidal economics. Sure writing is a tool in democracy but I want more people to have a voice and I believe a tool for that is citizens assemblies, like jury service, everyone gets a chance, but with guidance of experts a chance to submit and debate on ideas given to the House of Commons & Lords. Everyone deserves a voice, especially people with years of research/knowledge in specific fields, I really believe that. I believe in listening to scientific consensus’s. I believe ethics derived from both humanism and the most ethical aspects of religion, virtue. I believe in rational arguments where the persuasion is based upon moral reason and it appeals to the higher order values present in human nature. To borrow from Christianity and other religions the idea of virtues, from the better side of human’s and animals – fairness, from law – equity
