Nigel Farage wants to increase the threshold for work visa & NHS workers to £60,000. The current starting rate for Resident/Junior doctors is £38,500. This will disqualify talented foreign NHS professionals from serving Britain, preventing death and improving the countries health.

There is an estimated 150,000 long term vacancies in the NHS, leading to long waiting times on life saving surgery, prevention of death and improvement in life quality in all areas. It costs £230,000 to train a doctor and £67,000 to train a nurse in England and by recruiting overseas doctors this cost is paid for by another nation, likely of lower wealth, where it is cheaper to train, allowing people to earn decent salaries abroad in Britain and send money home to where it is needed, India, the Philippines etc. Britain has a moral responsibility to help hard working people who come from Nations where the Empire extracted wealth through the trading and forced labour of slaves, the looting of jewels and lifting of tangible wealth in the form of gold, silver etc. At the very least, that includes employing talented and committed people who want to improve and support the nation. We have taken and must give back, albeit in the form of well paid employment.
